Update of DOI Registration Fees and Conditions for 2026

DPCA announces an update of the fees and conditions for the registration of Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) for academic journals and publishing platforms for the year 2026.

Starting from 2026, the annual membership fee for publishers working through DPCA is USD 99. This amount is final and includes VAT as well as all related organizational and technical costs, with no hidden or additional charges.

For comparison, the official annual membership fee for direct registration is USD 275. DPCA operates under the status of a sponsoring member, which enables the provision of more accessible terms for publishers in Kazakhstan and the region, along with centralized support services.

The sponsoring member status allows DPCA to provide comprehensive support to editors and publishers at all stages of DOI registration, including consultation on metadata preparation, compliance with international registration standards, and stable integration with publishing infrastructures.

The cost of registering a single DOI is determined based on the publication volume and the selected service package. DPCA applies an article-based pricing model with transparent terms and no hidden fees.

Detailed information on DOI registration fees is available on a separate page outlining the service conditions.

The updated conditions are aimed at enhancing transparency, reducing the financial burden on editorial teams, and supporting the sustainable development of academic journals and publishing platforms in Kazakhstan.
